  31. MFTC:  Mutual Fund Tax Calculator has been tested by RCCO Research to 
  32. work with Windows 95.

  37. The easiest possible installation for a Windows program
  38. --------------------------------------------------------
  39. To install MFTC:  Mutual Fund Tax Calculator, simply copy all files in
  40. this package to a directory/folder of your choosing; we suggest creating 
  41. a new directory named \MFTC (or, in Windows 95, a sub-folder named MFTC ).  
  42. The MFTC package should be placed in a directory/folder of its own (rather 
  43. than being commingled with other files or programs in the same 
  44. directory/folder).

  46. You may then launch the program from File Manager or Explorer by double-
  47. clicking on MFTC.EXE.  You may also create a new program item/shortcut 
  48. for MFTC in any desired program group or folder, specifying the pathname 
  49. to MFTC.EXE as the command line, as well as indicating the same directory 
  50. as the working directory (required in Windows 3.1).  The program's icon is 
  51. contained within MFTC.EXE and may be specified as the displayed icon.  You 
  52. may then, in Windows 3.1, double-click on the program's icon to launch 
  53. MFTC; in Windows 95, simply select the Start menu item for MFTC, or launch 
  54. from the appropriate folder.

  56. The online documentation may be read after launching MFTC by selecting the
  57. Documentation menu item on the main program screen, or by pressing <F1>.

  59. You may also open the included MFTC.WRI file in Windows 3.1 Write or
  60. Windows 95 WordPad (or any Windows word processor that can read the Write 
  61. file format, such as Microsoft Word) and print (highly recommended) or 
  62. view a formatted version of the documentation from that program.

  79. There are several new features implemented in v2.0 of MFTC:  Record Number
  80. Indicator in both Form & Table Views, Edit/Non-Edit Cell indicator in
  81. Table View, Detail View window available in Table View, enhanced data
  82. entry error messaging, system information functions, expanded menu items,
  83. MRU (most recently used) fund table list on the File Menu, significant 
  84. documentation revisions -- to name several.

  86. We have been most pleased at the excellent registration response for MFTC; 
  87. it has, in a very short period of time, become one of our most popular and 
  88. often-registered programs.  The response from investors has been very 
  89. encouraging.  We have also been pleasantly surprised by the receipt of 
  90. orders from investment advisors and financial planners for multiple copies 
  91. of MFTC to give away or resell to their clients.

  93. The suggestions and comments from many users, including both novice and 
  94. experienced investors, have been extensive, thoughtful, and always 
  95. well-considered by RCCO Research; several suggestions from registered 
  96. users are implemented within the new version.

  98. It is solely because of the interest and registration support resulting 
  99. from the initial versions (1.x) that we are happy to provide the 
  100. development of new features and revision in this release.  We can 
  101. only hope that each new user of an unregistered copy will allow enough 
  102. evaluation time to adequately appreciate that which MFTC can offer in 
  103. the areas of tax-planning and portfolio management.
